Amazon Child

Sueli’s story starts in the middle of the Brazilian jungle. She is a foundling, as she will find out much later. The lush vegetation of the tropical rain forest and the mercilessness of the man, who raises her, are the first experiences that shape her. She must watch out for anacondas and piranhas as well as the violent outbursts of the head of the family. One day her life suddenly changes. An engineer, who is staying in the village, sees her being brutally mistreated. He suggests looking after the approximately six-year-old from now on. So Sueli grows up in Manaus, the capital of Amazonia, but suddenly her life takes an unexpected turn.
